He started his career in advertising before he could complete the Visual Communication course at FAAP. He worked in different areas - past-up, finalist art, lay-out man, but when he started to illustrate and stain he discovered his aptitude for painting. He participated in the II Graffiti Show in São Paulo and obtained the eighth place among the ten prizewinners who were sent to the exhibition at MIS (Museum of Image and Sound). Considering that it was the first work he did on a large scale starting with graphite. In the early nineties he painted his first canvas. Today his works are spread throughout Brazil and abroad. Working as a visual artist since 93, participating in several exhibitions, in addition to having performed several other works such as:

Achiles Luciano striking character of the good "jam / groove session" that pop up in São Paulo, with his illuminated easel next to the musicians, Achiles expresses in his painting the enchantment, the spontaneity, the unique intimacy of these musical events. Vivid acrylic paints on papers and canvases quickly filled with a generous gesture from the performance painter, under the eyes of an audience softened by the vibrant sound of outstanding musicians. A visual, performance show, intimately added to music, instantaneous creation, unpredictability, sensuality. Multicolored shirts, differentiated rastafari, the handsome Achiles observes banal scenes. With radical cuts it pulls details from the real, giving them vibrant chromatic life in night and contrasted luminosity. Thick brushes, with safe gestures, create stains and fill them, calligraphically or smudging, naturally, rude and sensual figures, pieces of human bodies wearing textures, in a world of musical instruments, ashtrays, cigarettes, smoke, cans, glasses, tables, chairs, beams of light. Interested parties approach the large easel portfolio, talk to Achiles, pleasantly overcome the historic barrier of the public painter, in the irrevocable act of creative making that is already exposed. Achiles came to color nocturnal brown cats, distribute life, visual education, demystify art, exercise originality and personality. Artist in constant construction, "in progress", sharing emotion, surprise and skill with the audience. Like the best jams.

Part of this urban body, we deeply feel tears, fissures, shards. Everyday experiences of detachment, separation, walling up. The city does not stop. And its fragments are everywhere. How to bring them together, surprise them, give them a new meaning? As a meeting proponent, Achiles Luciano is constantly faced with the challenge of “being with”. His works often take place in shared processes of creation - works that emerge from other images, paintings that are born, in real time, from the unexpected encounter with productions of other languages, invited to compose a common territory. In the exhibition "1 + 1, or more ...", his main work material is the manipulation of images captured by the eyes of some photographers. Images that, before becoming a new work, are already records of collective bodies. Their contours are mirrored, added and mutually transformed. Achiles Luciano's “meeting” work has as its main characteristic the possibility of exchange. And the connection of each one of the fragments, the woven relationships, the images created, compose a sensitive experience, the emergence of a shared materiality.
